Restart on Health Week: Day 1- When To take Rest Days In Your Workout Routine

Not going to lie, but I have never been “good” at taking rest days. I would either not take them, or I would regret them every time I did take one. But doing so has really had bad results. So from my learning experience I have realized how important rest days are and how you may need more than you think!

Lets start on what a rest day really means. For the most part, it means to relax and not do ANY form of intense exercise. If you are absolutely dying, then go take a walk but the point is to not do any of that! This is because it will help you stay motivated the rest of the week and let your body recover.

Getting more comfortable with rest days has really helped me also learn how to listen to my body. Some weeks I don’t feel like taking a rest day, where some weeks my body is sooooo sore and tired I need three days off!…THREE!!! And don’t feel guilty the weeks where you take multiple rest days because you will have an awesome active week following! So to put this all in a short and sweet sentence, work on listening to your body because rest days do the body good!!
