NPC Prep | Less Than 14 Weeks Out! Carb Cycling, Sleeping More, Update

I can’t believe it I’m less than 14 weeks out! Time has already started to fly by!

Today marks day 2 of carb cycling.

There are many different ways people carb cycle:

Different patterns (low carb-med carb-high carb-repeat, low carb-low carb-high carb-repeat, etc)

I am not doing a medium carb day so my pattern is: Low Carb, Low Carb, High Carb, Repeat

So far loving it and it’s help me lose a little water weight which is great!

Basically for those who don’t know, carb cycling is where on low carb days your protein and fat raises while carbs go way low, then on high carb day your protein is medium, fat low, and carbs very high. What this does is throughout the low carb days your body is burning fat instead of the carbs you are eating. The problem is, is if you stay with just low carb for a long period of time your metabolism will greatly DECREASE, causing of course a slow metabolism but also hitting a plateau. So the reason carb cycling works is because then on high carb days your leptin hormone (part of metabolism production) is spiked which tricks your body so its doesn’t feel starved. Im going to stop there because it gets even more scientific from there on why carb cycling works, but I think you get my point…thats it brings results!

So last part of my update is about sleep! I have been trying to get more and more sleep every night because the less sleep you get, the higher your cortisol levels and the more your hunger hormones are out of whack and water weight is held…who wants that? Not me! So more sleep it is!
